Words
Use them with care
Now that I’m knee deep in the Substack world, I’m reminded of the importance of words, and how we use them matters. So, here’s my brief take on how we can (and should) use words in a careful, caring manner in our daily lives.
*Disclaimer: I’m not saying that we should sugar coat things when we speak to others. I’m saying that how you say things matters, and even if it’s about a troubling topic, we should still tread carefully, and with care*
Words can:
Transcend generations. No matter the ages of the communicators, everyone has something valuable to share. So listen to them. Actively.
Educate/Inform. Please understand, this doesn’t mean ‘talk down’ to people. Be mature, and consider how what your saying might affect someone. No one should be above constructive criticism. It’s all about respecting the person you’re “teaching”.
Hurt. The sad reality is that sometimes we have to have hard conversations sometimes. Don’t make it harder by being condescending.
Inspire. Sometimes, we have the ability to inspire someone in our lives. Whether it be your child, or someone on the other side of the world, consider this when communicating with someone. You might be the one that inspires them to dream big or carry on when they’re at a low point in their life.
Show Love. No greater power in the universe. Do everything in love.
The reason for all of my ramblings today about words is because I find myself falling “in love” with some of the writings that I’m reading here. There is one in particular that I would like to mention, and that is 🌼 𝕂𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕝𝕒 . I highly recommend you check her out. Really beautiful and thoughtful. I’m also discovering others as well. It’s all quite inspiring to me.
Can’t wait to fall in love with your words!

Lovely, uplifting, gentle reminder. Thank you Mark!
