Walking through the woods

You happen upon a tree

The door, a fire orange

You start to wonder

Where did that come from?

I've walked down this path

A thousand times before

Never was there this door

You rub your eyes

Still there

You think

What if I open it?

You shake your head

Surely you've gone mad

You approach it with caution

Secretly hoping it's a mirage

But curiosity wins the day

You close your eyes

Extend your arm

Until your hand makes contact

This can't be happening

You squeeze the handle

Turn it

The door opens

This seems real

You start to tremble

But your curiosity

Moves you to walk in

You are trembling

What will you find?

Surely, this SEEMS real

You are in

The door slams behind you

Startled, you jump

You close your eyes tight

Open them. Still there.

It's beautiful you think

Where did this come from?

You explore further

It's surely a dream

You ponder.

Is this my life?

Excitement grows.

A smile consumes your face.

Then

The alarm rings.

You sigh

It WAS a dream after all.
