NOTE: As an educational worker, the summer is a good time to recharge and reset. That time is nearing an end, and new school year is but days away. As that time gets closer, I’ve been reminded just how fast time seems to fly by. This is a poem about how precious time is, and how it continues beyond our “time” on Earth. I’m not sad. There’s nothing I can do about it. I have a feeling this is something we can all relate to. Enjoy!

“Time is a valuable thing. Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings”- Linkin Park (In the End)
Time
Precious they say
Sometimes feels like it’s dragging
Others, it’s flying away
.
Seems like yesterday
Out in my backyard
Or on a rainy day
Looking at my baseball cards
.
Grandma
Sending me for ice cream
As I look back now
It seems like a dream
.
As I’ve grown
Starting to get old
Memories getting longer
Just like my mom had told
.
Watching my kids grow
So fast it seems
Hard to imagine
Seems like a dream
.
Lots has changed
But one thing’s for sure
Time it keeps passing
Beyond life, it endures
.
