Go to the Light
A poem about my future
I'm at a crossroads
A dead-end road
That leads to a stream
A stream that leads to an ocean?
Or is it just a puddle?
It could be just my mind
Wreaking havoc
With my perception
Of what's real.
In this view that I have
Is a shimmering light
At the end of the stream.
A portal or an ending
Not quite sure.
Nerves overwhelming my
Sense of reality
Not sure if I should head towards it
Or turn around and run.
Onward to the future
Or backwards
To something familiar.
My legs start to tremble
My knees turn to rubber
Suddenly I can't move
Frozen in time.
Mind starts to ponder
What's my next move
So
I lift one leg
I take my first step
Unsure of where it might lead
Into my tomorrow.

May we all push ourselves to just take the step into the light. 🫶
This is beautiful Mark!
