The Colors of my Confidence

My pale skin
Where it begins.
When I was very young.
By the time I was 10
Light blue would it turn
Realizing who I am
Teen years come
Middle school, it darkens
A deeper shade of blue.
High school
Begins to purple
The bruises they do turn.
Turns to a blue
Fading to black
Into my twenties I go.
There's been no fading
Through the decades to come
Confidence has left a permanent black/blue bruise
